Warren Spector came to the PC Gaming Show to reveal details about System Shock Remake.
Spector was one of the key people behind the original 1994 title that had so much impact on the games that followed.
The title has no start date yet. But the video released at the PC Gaming Show gives us a good idea of what it will look like. The graphics look pretty good, with the interior of a spaceship full of colors and shadows and lots of mechanical systems.
The original game had a lot of action, horror, and flashing lights. You had to fight with Shodan, an immortal machine that went insane. It comes from Nightdive Studios.
“Shodand seems way too close to reality for me right now,” said Spector, who advises Nightdive. “I’ve worked on several games now where they have a quality of prediction that I could never have predicted and System Shock is one of them. Shodan is just around the corner as far as I can tell. Let’s just hope she doesn’t show up in such a nasty form as she did back in 1994.”
