Super Evil Megacorp announced that its new game Catalyst Black will be released later this spring – May 25th to be precise. The new battlefield shooter from the developers of Vainglory will be a competitive multiplayer title for mobile gamers.
Catalyst Black made its debut at the iPhone 13 showcase last year, albeit briefly. It was originally called “Project Spellfire”. The game will look and be every bit as fun as any triple-A console title and will be powered by the company’s EVIL engine.
The gameplay is pretty typical for a top-down battleground title. Players can customize their loadout and have over 30 weapons, 12 abilities, and 15 trinkets to choose from at launch. They also have 6 Primals, or giant beings, that they can summon to fight their enemies. There will also be a variety of modes including PvP, PvE and PvEvP.
Kristian Segerstrale, CEO of Super Evil Megacorp, said in a statement: “Catalyst Black takes mobile-first gaming to a new level, both through input flexibility and its accessible yet deep, action-packed gameplay. Catalyst Black is coming to iOS and Android on May 25th.
